Austin, Texas : capitale du cool au pays des cow-boys

Austin, the administrative capital of the state of Texas, is today the most dynamic city in the United States. Every day, 150 new residents move there in search of an exceptional living environment and favorable tax regimes. Texas has no income tax, and companies like Apple, Tesla, Google, and Samsung are opening ultra-futuristic factories there. Real estate prices are soaring, up 25% in one year, and the long-time residents of the old Latino neighborhoods are being pushed out of the city center by new tech arrivals with five-figure salaries. Hipsters, fresh off the boat from California, are coming here to find one of the most progressive cities in the United States, crazy about nature and live music, open to all experiences. But this capital of cool is located in the heart of an ultra-conservative state. The newcomers cross paths with religious traditionalists hostile to abortion and anti-LGBT, and cowboys who love big guns and 4X4s. There's a lot of friction between these two worlds.
