The model draws attention for its good trunk and modern style, but besides that, what else does this car offer? To answer this question, I'm going to talk about all the positive and negative points and whether or not it's worth buying a car like this. Since we're already talking about the design, let's start with the front. The HB20S received its last visual update in 2022, bringing a much more aggressive and less controversial front end than the previous one. But unfortunately the front end is now longer and this makes the car scrape the front end easily on speed bumps and ditches. We know that the culprit for this is our asphalt, which is worthy of a lunar road, but even so, the previous versions of the HB20S were better in this regard. The headlights have good lighting, even though the headlights are single-parabola, that is, the same parabola has the focus for the low beam and the high beam. This tends to provide less illumination than headlights with double parabolas. We should also remember that the top-of-the-line HB20 has much better headlights and that they should be extended to other versions of the model. This version here already deserves it, right? Now, let's talk about the mechanical part. Under the hood, the HB20S Comfort Plus 2024 comes equipped with the 1.0 TGDI engine, a 1.0 turbo three-cylinder, which delivers 120 horsepower and 17.5 kgfm of torque with ethanol or gasoline. I really like the performance of the HB20s, the car responds very well, as we will see later. And according to Hyundai, it goes from 0 to 100 in 10.7 seconds and reaches 191 km/h, not bad for a compact sedan, right? The transmission is a six-speed automatic, with smooth shifts and a well-adjusted behavior for everyday use. A positive point, especially for those looking for comfort in urban traffic. The gearbox is very robust and has no reputation for problems, which is also nice! But Rodrigo, what about the suspension? Here Hyundai kept the focus on comfort. The suspension is McPherson type in the front and torsion beam in the rear. It is comfortable in general, but when the car is full, the rear end drops a lot and can hit hard, which is unfortunately common in Korean cars. Speaking of wheels and tires, it comes with 15-inch alloy wheels with a very nice design, fitted with 185/60 tires. This higher profile contributes to comfort, which is a positive point. Now about safety, the HB20S Comfort Plus is very complete. It comes as standard with 6 airbags, traction and stability controls. It was tested by the Latin Ncap and only got 3 stars. If we were to draw a parallel to our school days, I would say that he barely passed the year, lol. The car is well built and we can see this in some details. The gaps in the bodywork are very regular and millimeter-sized, which translates into quality. The car has the most refined window molding system and the windows are very close to the bodywork. Opening the door here we see that the car has double rubber on both the door and the interior panel, which provides very good insulation, as well as the door jamb, which is very muffled. We arrive here at the rear of the HB20S, and for me this is the most beautiful angle of this car. I really like this Cyclops-style taillight, in fact this taillight is so big that you can write on it, leave a Like on Rodrigo's video, can you see? Now seriously, if you could leave a like, I would really appreciate it because it helps me a lot. Well, getting back to the taillight, unfortunately this central bar does not light up in this version. Only in the full version. The other bulbs are also halogen, which is good for an eventual crash, where these taillights tend to be cheaper than the LED version, but... we lose out on style, right? The trunk has 475 liters, one of the largest in the category, which makes it a good choice for families or those who need space for trips. Here's a curiosity. Until the last generation, the Hyundai Hb20 sold very well, but I don't know why, this model is only the fourth best-selling sedan in Brazil, behind the Onix Plus, Virtus and Versa. If you're looking for a compact sedan, with a good level of equipment and good performance, it's a great choice. However, we must remember that it is a low-slung car and there are safer options in the segment, such as the Virtus or even the Onix Plus.
