Opposition Reacts To PEP Exam Results | Midday News

The Opposition Spokesman on Education, Damian Crawford, is chiding the Education Ministry for what he calls an untruthful presentation of the recent PEP examination results. The Ministry of Education reported that three of the four subject areas in the recently concluded PEP examinations exceeded its 70% performance target. Its analysis showed that 72% of students were rated proficient or highly proficient in Language Arts Literacy, while 79% achieved mastery in Numeracy. Mathematics fell just short of the target, with 69% of students achieving proficiency. However, according to Damian Crawford, the Ministry is celebrating what he describes as a misleading assessment that does not accurately reflect the facts surrounding the results.
