Garmin LiveScope Install on a Salmon Trolling Boat | Custom Panoptix Pole + Wiring & On-Water Test In this video, I walk through my Garmin LiveScope LVS34+ installation on my 20-foot salmon trolling boat from start to finish. From installing a custom Panoptix / LiveScope pole on the swim deck to wiring the GLS10 black box, running dedicated power, networking to the head unit, and finally testing it on the water, this video covers it all. I worked with Headwaters Marine in Washington to build a custom LiveScope pole designed specifically for salmon trolling, keeping it out of the way of the net, kicker, and heavy boat traffic. The pole is fully adjustable, stows cleanly, and allows me to watch my trolling rods, gear, and fish in real time. What’s covered in this video: Garmin LiveScope LVS34+ overview Custom Panoptix / LiveScope pole install (swim deck mount) GLS10 black box mounting & airflow considerations Running transducer cable + extension Dedicated battery power with proper fusing Network cable setup to front helm unit Software updates & setup On-water LiveScope testing (watching trolling gear + fish marks) Final thoughts for salmon trolling applications This setup is designed specifically for Pacific Northwest salmon fishing, where trolling precision, rod visibility, and staying out of the way during net jobs really matters. While this is a custom pole, the wiring and setup process applies to any Garmin LiveScope pole install. Why I chose this setup: Keeps the pole off the side of the boat Safer in heavy boat traffic No interference with netting fish Easy stow & deploy Watch trolling gear live while fishing Costs (for reference): Custom LiveScope pole: ~$450 Full LiveScope install: ~$850 DIY install saves money and gives you full control If you’re thinking about adding LiveScope for salmon trolling, this video should help you decide how to rig it clean, reliable, and out of the way. 👍 Like the video if it helped 💬 Drop a comment if you have questions 🔔 Subscribe for more salmon fishing, boat rigging, and real-world testing I’ll be using LiveScope a lot this season, so stay tuned for more on-water results.
