St. Patrick's N.S. Gugalaí Gug Egg Company

Our 5th class students manage a company, called Gugalaí Gug, which sells the eggs they lay to families in every class. The money is reinvested in resources for the children. Our hens live in a henhouse at the back of the school. They are free range, and get outside during the day and are shut at night in a fenced area. They all have personalities and are very funny! We currently have six school hens. All have been supplied free of charge by David Redhouse of Newgrange Farm. The oldest, Chewbacca, has been with us for seven years, while the others are a bit younger.
