Light, soulful and perfect for everyday meals. т╕╗ INGREDIENTS FOR DAL 1 Bowl Toor Dal (Washed & Soaked) Water As Required Salt To Taste ┬╜ Tsp Turmeric Powder FOR TEMPERING & MASALA 4тАУ5 Tbsp Oil 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds ┬╜ Tsp Hing 2 Dry Red Chillies 6тАУ7 Curry Leaves 1 Tbsp Garlic (Finely Chopped) 3 Green Chillies (Slit) ┬╜ Cup Onion (Finely Chopped) 1 Cup Raw Mango (Diced) ┬╜ Cup Tomato (Finely Chopped) FOR SPICES Salt To Taste 1 Tsp Coriander Powder 1 Tsp Cumin Powder 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder т╕╗ METHOD 1. Add soaked toor dal, water, salt and turmeric powder in a pressure cooker. Cook for 3 whistles until soft. 2. Once cooked, whisk the dal until smooth and keep aside. 3. Heat oil in a kadhai. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. 4. Add cumin seeds, hing, dry red chillies and curry leaves. Saut├й briefly. 5. Add garlic and saut├й until aromatic. 6. Add slit green chillies and chopped onion. Cook until light golden. 7. Add diced raw mango and chopped tomato. Mix and cook for 2тАУ3 minutes. 8. Add salt, coriander powder, cumin powder and red chilli powder. Mix well. 9. Add the whisked dal and stir to combine. 10. Let it simmer for 5 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. 11. Add chopped coriander and boil for 1 minute. 12. Serve hot topped with ghee. т╕╗ TIPS AND TRICKS Adjust the sourness of raw mango depending on its taste. If too tangy, balance with a pinch of sugar. Do not overcook the mango to maintain slight texture. Resting the dal for a few minutes enhances the overall flavor.
