Starting at age 19, he worked as a carpenter, demolishing and repairing over 100 decades-old homes over the course of 10 years. He gained a deep understanding of the characteristics of durable and easily damaged homes. At age 29, he founded Hiramatsu Construction as a sole proprietorship. At age 32, he incorporated Hiramatsu Construction Co., Ltd. He traveled to Germany to study homebuilding to learn about energy-efficient and healthy living. Whenever an earthquake occurs, he travels to the site to gather information, gathers various information, and makes decisions about homebuilding based on firsthand information. He continues to study homebuilding practices in western Shizuoka Prefecture on a daily basis.
