The elasticity of fascia gives us an internal spring, adding ease to walking and ergonomic strength to running, jumping and throwing, and also serves as a natural mood enhancer. Elasticity refers to two categories of fascia: muscular fascia and deep fascia. The most powerful fascial springs are tendons and aponeuroses. Less powerful fascial springs are formed by muscle fascia. Elastic fascia has the appearance of corrugations - a wave-like pattern of collagen fibers. Corrugated fascia has the ability to elastically lengthen and contract, thereby accumulating and releasing kinetic energy. Elastic energy increases the efficiency of movements and power. Elastic mechanisms can be differentiated into three models of muscle-tendon interaction: rhythmic elasticity, power amplification and shock absorption. Elasticity can be trained by regularly engaging in rhythmic bouncing, hopping, jumping, swinging, spiraling and throwing – provided that the exercises are performed consciously at any age. The rhythm of movement matters. When we begin to accelerate, at some point the movement will be more influenced by the elasticity of connective tissue elements [fascial membranes in which muscle fibers are enclosed] than by the activity of the muscles themselves. For those with dense connective tissues, it is advisable to slow down in the rhythm of movement, and if they are loose, then speed up, without reaching the limits of possible amplitudes of movement. All this allows you to create the effect of elastic movement through the activation of the fascial component in the "muscle-fascia" system. Please note: the rhythm of movement to create elasticity is chosen independently, based on the feeling of lightness and fatigue during the exercise. When the practice is aimed at equalizing the tone of the fascial system – our soft skeleton – then after the session you do not feel tired, on the contrary, you feel an emotional uplift and a charge of vigor.
