From being a member of Haile Salassie's Imperial Band, to releasing three albums on French label Buda Musique's world renowned Ethiopiques series, and receiving the BBC's World Music Award in 2007, Ethiopian protégée Mahmoud Ahmed has made himself an international legend of Ethiopia's "golden era" of music.
