According to the lyrics, there ought to be medals in Heaven for mothers; one for each of the million things we've taken for granted... especially for a mother's patience, duty and kind loving care. Have you ever stopped to think how a mother puts up with it all? So many times we've been guilty of taking our mothers for granted, of forgetting to say "thank-you," of going our own selfish ways and kind of shoving mama aside. Well, one of the many ways moms have "put up with it all," is by remembering, singing and passing on to their children the kind of music Bonnie has chosen for this album. Most of the titles will look familiar as you read them. And with good reason. Most of them are songs you grew up with... songs that could have been among your mother's favorites. There's "What a Friend We Have in Jesus; I'll Fly Away; Where the Soul Never Dies; Where Could I Go But to the Lord" and many more that many a mother has had to lean on. Some of these songs are the "goodtime" gospel kind that tend to take a mind off almost any problem. Some are songs of thankfulness, of praise, of hope and even pleading. Most all of them, Bonnie Owens knows, could be a mother's favorite... she remembers them from Sundays in Oklahoma that today seem so far away...
