The Basics of Just War

The tradition of Just War has been part of the church’s ethical thinking and work since the days of Ambrose and Augustine. Remarkably, though, many Christians have little to no idea about the actual criteria of just war theory. In this video, Joel Biermann presents the basic principles related to each the three aspects of just war: ius ad bellum, ius in bello, and ius post bellum — or before during and after war. Thinking correctly about just war can lead in some rather startling directions that may well be at odds with standard assumptions that Christians have about war.
