At the Historic Grand Prix at Zandvoort 2016 was the ''BMW Centenary Trophy: BMW 2002 meets BMW 3.0 CSL''. A race with 8 different BMW 3.0 CSL who raced against various 2002 models. It's BMWs 100th year anniversary and also the 50th year anniversary for the 2002. BMW brought some spectacular CSL variants, especially the #29 Schnitzer one and #71 with the most brutal sound and possibly the 3.5 liter engine! BMW also brought the 3.0 CSL Hommage R and 2002 Hommage concept cars, a modern take of those classic cars.
