This is the first installment of a 4-night, 5-day train journey from Chiba Station to Hakata Station. This time, we'll board the Limited Express Azusa/Fuji Kaiyu train from Chiba Station and head to Otsuki Station in Yamanashi Prefecture on the Chuo Main Line. From the urban areas of Chiba to central Tokyo, residential areas along the Chuo Line, and then the mountainous scenery past Takao, we'll enjoy the changing scenery from the train window as we head towards our first stop, Otsuki Station. After arriving at Otsuki Station, we'll take a bus to the Yamanashi Prefectural Linear Motor Car Exhibition Center. At the Dokidoki Linear Museum, we'll see the superconducting linear motor car test vehicle "MLX01-2," and from the observation terrace, we'll watch the linear motor car running on the Yamanashi Linear Motor Car Test Line. After experiencing the world of 500 km/h, we'll enjoy Yamanashi's local cuisine, Hoto, at the Michi-no-Eki Tsuru (roadside station). This Yamanashi stopover episode, where we enjoy the future of railways and local cuisine, is the perfect start to our journey.
