Andy Mill’s journey from Olympic skier to world-class fly fisherman is a story of relentless passion and competitive spirit. After representing the U.S. in two Olympics and earning the “Olympic Spirit Award” in 1976, Andy transitioned from skiing to broadcasting, where he shared his love of fishing through "Sportsman’s Journal". He went on to dominate the world of tournament tarpon fly fishing, winning more invitational events than anyone in history, including five Gold Cup Tarpon Tournaments. Beyond competition, Andy authored "A Passion for Tarpon", widely regarded as the definitive guide to the species, and co-founded the "Mill House Podcast" with his son Nicky, preserving the stories of legendary anglers and conservationists. His dedication to conservation has earned him leadership roles with IGFA, Bonefish & Tarpon Trust, and more, solidifying his influence both on and off the water. For his unparalleled tournament success, storytelling, and contributions to the sport, Andy Mill is honored with induction into the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame. The IGFA is a nonprofit organization committed to the conservation of game fish and the promotion of responsible, ethical angling practices through science, education, rule making, record keeping and recognition of outstanding accomplishments in the field of angling.
