1962 Hermes 3000 Typewriter

While I do a lot of pencil and pen reviews, the purpose of this channel is to explore and share the different analog technologies that I enjoy, and this includes typewriters. I have reviewed a couple of typewriters previously, and I thought I was overdue to do another one from my collection. This Hermes 3000 was manufactured in Switzerland in 1962. The year of manufacture is based off the serial number of the machine, and checked in the Typewriter Database, a wonderful resource if you have a typewriter. https://typewriterdatabase.com/ Many typewriter collectors and users feel that the Hermes 3000 is the best overall portable typewriter of all time. It is a fine machine, and a joy to type on - but there are other typewriters (portable and standard) that I enjoy using every bit as much. That said, this is a very well engineered machine and one worthy of sharing through this video.
