Without discounts, the return ticket for the cogwheel is around 36CHF (40€ / 40$). At the top of the 2,042-meter-high mountain, I realized that I should have prepared better for the snow. Please don’t be like me, dress appropriately when going to a mountain, even if you don’t plan to hike! *I was just impressed by my Lidl sneakers and wasn't paid for mentioning that, even though a partnership with Lidl would be amazing ;) In the afternoon, it was time to head back down to Montreux and explore the Montreux Christmas Market 🎄. It is one of the most magical holiday markets in Europe, filled with twinkling lights, cozy wooden chalets, and festive treats. Stretching along the promenade of Lake Geneva, it offers stunning views. The highlight of Montreux Noël is Santa Claus in his sleigh, who flies over Lake Geneva every full hour.
