Using the TI-Nspire on the AP Calculus Exam
In this video we go over everything you need to be able to do on a TI-Nspire if you're using it to take the AP Calculus exam (AB or BC). I tried to do everything in a way that you can do it with a CAS or a non-CAS (numeric) TI-Nspire. In the video I use the TI-Nspire CX II CAS. I used some old released Free Response Questions (FRQs) to motivate the skills and show that they're really necessary. The problems that I used are: 2007 (Form B)-3, 2007-2, 2011-1, 2006-1, 2006-2, and 2013-1. (I'd link to them but they change the url all the time, so just google for them!) 00:00 Intro 00:16 Changing to radians 01:10 Inserting problems and pages within problems 02:56 Defining functions, derivative at a point 05:32 Using division template and solving equations (using solve) 07:25 Defining a piecewise function, definite integrals on calculator 12:44 Velocity, Acceleration, speed, average velocity, distance traveled 15:37 Putting graph page in radian mode, float 6 for more decimals 17:12 Area between curves, intersection points, storing values 21:30 using the right variable, matching graphing window to given graph 23:12 definite integral on graph page 24:40 intersection points, ZoomBox, storing values, using stored values 27:00 Solving an equation by finding intersection points on graph 30:20 Finding and storing zero of a function, another accumulation function
