This took too long to finish; it was as if completing the last edits would truly mark the end of the trip. Japan was such an incredible experience. Halal ramen, soba, curry, wagyu, bento boxes, 7/11 onigiri and egg sandos, mochi donuts -- don't make me start on the food!! And then there was the masjid in Tokyo, cherry blossoms lining the streets, and deer park in Nara, dotonbori in Osaka, and temples in Kyoto... So much happened in the short week and a half we were in Japan. This was the cherry on top. Our last two days we spent in Tokyo were dedicated to letting our feet wander, our eyes taking in the sights, our minds filled with the everyday workings around town. I'd love to someday return and experience more of Japan - outside of the tourist attractions and expectations.
