Verrassing! Willem-Alexander bezoekt mooiste oranjestraat van Nederland

King Willem-Alexander paid a surprise visit to the Marktweg in The Hague on Thursday evening, just before the Dutch national team started the second match at the European Football Championship. The street was recently named the most beautiful orange street in the Netherlands, as orange is the national color of The Netherlands and the name of the royal family: Orange-Nassau. The residents had been told that the mayor would come by. But shortly after mayor Jan van Zanen's arrival, the king also arrived. He toured the street, posed for numerous selfies, and visited a backyard with a large screen where people will watch the match. With the visit, Willem-Alexander wanted to show his solidarity with all millions of orange fans in the Netherlands. The residents of the Marktweg decorated all houses, street lanterns and containers with flags and banners and other things. Some facades are colored completely orange.
