End of Life Doula at UVM Info Session
Training in End-of-Life Doula care is today’s hot topic in healthcare and was recently featured on Today.com. The University of Vermont's online End-of-Life Doula Certificate program prepares students to meet the growing demand for end-of-life support as people live longer and the course of the average dying process continues to become increasingly gradual and anticipated. In this Info Session, Program Director Francesca Arnoldy disscused: What is end-of-life care? What is a doula’s role? Learn about UVM’s End-of-Life Doula Professional Certificate Program UVM End-of-Life Doula program Alumni Virginia Chang also shared her perspective on the program and current work as a doula. End-of-Life Doulas complement the care provided by family members and friends, as well as medical, palliative, and hospice professionals, within the settings of hospitals, senior care facilities, and homes. EOL Doulas support clients with individualized, compassionate care in a number of ways, including emotional, spiritual, informational, and physical support, which greatly helps to lower stress levels, aid in comfort, and promote personalized, even positive, dying passages for clients and their loved ones.
