Garuda TV - Strengthening micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) cannot simply rely on expanding access to financing. Cross-sector collaboration involving the government, financial institutions, business actors, and various stakeholders is needed to build a sustainable MSME ecosystem. This was one of the main topics discussed at the 2026 Economic Briefing held by Bank Indonesia in collaboration with Garuda TV in Jakarta. This forum brought together regulators, industry players, banks, and academics to formulate strategies to strengthen the MSME sector as a pillar of national economic growth. The Secretary of the Ministry of MSMEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting, stated that the challenges faced by MSMEs cannot be resolved solely by increasing access to capital. According to her, MSMEs also require business mentoring, legal support, capacity building, and expanded marketing access to enable sustainable growth. Loto emphasized that resolving MSME financing issues requires synergy from all stakeholders, from regulators, financial services institutions, local governments, and MSMEs. Furthermore, improving financial literacy is considered a crucial factor in helping business owners better understand the various financing schemes available and manage their businesses more professionally. The forum also discussed the importance of innovating more inclusive financing products to reach more productive business owners. This step is expected to expand access to capital while increasing the competitiveness of MSMEs amidst economic challenges and changing market behavior. Through the 2026 Economic Briefing, Bank Indonesia and Garuda TV hope to generate policy recommendations that can strengthen the MSME ecosystem through cross-sector collaboration. With financing support, increased financial literacy, innovation, and synergy between stakeholders, MSMEs are expected to increasingly play a key role as drivers of inclusive and sustainable Indonesian economic growth.
