Going narrowband? AVOID this misconception!

Narrowband astrophotography is a great way of taking pictures of nebulae, even from very light polluted areas. There is however a common misconception concerning narrowband filters, especially the narrower bandpasses. You have less sky glow shot noise to swamp the read noise with tighter bandpasses, but you that doesn't necessarily force you to expose longer!
