Finding Prehistoric Artifacts In The High Desert

Ten thousand years ago in what is now the Great Basin Desert, people lived and hunted along the shorelines of ancient lakes and wetlands. Today, the Great Basin Desert is just that, a desert. Encompassing multiple states, it has many layers of history and cultures. What a fascinating place! Returning to that desert, we scour the small hills and rock outcroppings looking for what might have been camps where people gathered to produce the tools they used to get through life. And on this trip we made some great finds! We came across quite a few scrapers so we felt that the area we were searching, more than likely, was a hunting camp probably used for generations.
