Power Electronics Module 2 Lecture 1| DC DC buck converter
DC DC buck converter is explained in this lecture. The concept of inductor behavior is also part of this lecture. I have explained in detail how to synthesize a primitive converter into a buck converter. The derivation of gain is shown with the help of inductor voltage and current. Thereafter, the equation to find the inductance L is derived using the inductor current waveform. Similarly the formulae to calculate the output capacitor is also expressed in this lecture. The lecture outlines the optimization issue viz the current ripple and peak current requirement. Thereafter, the single pole double throw switch is replaced with the semiconductor switches. This is performed through the plot of I-V characteristics. The timeline of this lecture is as follows. 00:00 Intro 00:07 Basics 02:36 Inductor recap 07:27 Assumptions 09:52 Buck circuit 14:00 Subcircuits 18:30 T/f derivation 29:03 Element values 41:32 Switch realization 51:00 Design procedure #BuckConverter #PowerConverter #HadeedSher Download the formulae sheet from the link given below https://ia601400.us.archive.org/28/it...
