The most brutal MTB race in Europe

The Highland Trail 550 is the oldest bikepacking race in Europe and arguably the hardest. With harsh weather, unforgiving terrain, numerous technical downhill, countless long hike-a-bikes, it is a test of character for anyone who is bold enough to sign up. The reward is gorgeous landscapes in a remote and wild part of that populous continent that is Europe. The course and conditions make it super challenging, but on top of that, I had to deal with a string of bad luck that made it even harder.
