Usakos welcomes first International Training College Lingua Centre - nbc

The town of Usakos has welcomed the first-ever training centre from the International Training College Lingua, a development expected to transform skills training, boost youth employment, and strengthen economic prospects in the Erongo Region. Governor of the Erongo Region, Nathalia |Goagoses, said the opening marks a new chapter for the town, bringing long-awaited opportunities for youth employment, skills training, and local economic growth. She noted that Lingua is one of Namibia's first accredited private institutions and has grown over the past 24 years. The decision to expand to Usakos, she said, ensures that underserved communities finally gain access to quality and affordable education. "Let us strengthen the link between education, industry, and community development so that our learners are equipped for the modern world of work. These partnerships will not only prepare our young people for their future, but they will also build a stronger Usakos." Usakos Mayor Irene Simeon-Kurtz said, "Today, we gather not merely to open a building but to celebrate a milestone in the evolution of Usakos. The unveiling of the Lingua College is a bold affirmation of our shared belief in education as the cornerstone of development. It represents a new era, an era defined by opportunity, collaboration, and a renewed commitment to unlocking the potential of our town." Founder and CEO of the International Training College Lungua, Ingrid Kloppers-Mettler, urged the community, schools, and local industries to partner with the institution. "Our vision goes beyond the academic programmes. We aim to create a hub of community programmes where young people find direction, businesses find trending time, and schools find a partner in education. Adults find the opportunity to grow their careers, and parents find pride in the achievements of their children." The college has the capacity to accommodate 500 students.
