Simpson’s Rule
Simpson’s rule is a method of numerical integration. It splits the interval over which we wish to integrate into an even number of equal segments and then uses quadratic interpolation to approximate the curve over successive pairs of segments. It then takes the integral of the quadratic interpolation over each pair of segments and then sums all of these to use as an approximation for the integral of the function over the whole interval.
