Chandi Di Var English Katha + Kirtan by 'Sukhy Baba' Nihung

In this Katha look at the history behind Dasam Granth Sahib and also examine how the Khalsa Panth agreed not to argue about the authenticity of Guru Gobind Singh ji's writings. This video reflects our view that unity in the Panth will come from accepting differing viewpoints and not expecting uniformity. We see how the Akaal Takht Sikh Rehat Maryada has given us a common base of agreement and that accepting the writings of all ten Gurus is a central tenet of being a Sikh. Page 1 of the Sikh Rehat Maryada explicitly states that Rehras Sahib consists of "Benti Chaupai Patshahi 10". (Guru Gobind Singh ji Maharaj). Page 2 of the Sikh Rehat Maryada also explicitly states that Var Sri Bhagauti Ji Ki (Chandi Di Var) is by Patshahi 10. We then look at how many respected Sikhs in history have read Chandi di Var and see what inspiration a Sikh may draw from reading the epic story of Durga's battles against the demons. Its clear from reading Chandi Di Var that Guruji proclaims the supremacy of Akaal Purakh Vaheguru and that for Sikhs, the Kirpan is given as the Bhagauti that will allow us to vanquish the tyrants and oppressors from the world. We look at the fearlessness of the Shaheed Nihung Singhs and how Guru sahib extolls the virtues of fighting for justice and freedom even if this results in our mortal death. Kirtan is by Bhai Sukhvinder Singh Nihung 'Sukhy Baba' of Bhagat Kabir ji's slok "Kabir Mohe Marne Ka Chaao Hai, Maro Ta Kar Ke Duaar".
