SFV: Zangief Tips - Beginner Combos

What to learn how to play Zangief but don't know where to start? Confused by all the combo videos and waffle? Don't know how to MUSCLE good? Well this is the tutorial for you! In this tutorial I cover what I believe are thecore beginner combos to learn before going on to learn hit-confirms and link combos. I also briefly cover a primer to Intermediate Combos, jump-ins, anti-airs, dealing with fireballs and SPD setups! SPD SHORTCUT This is the most important thing to learn as a Zangief player. The SPD input (360+P) only require you to hit 6 points on the rotation, so the easiest thing to do is a half circle and a diagonal up input. Whichever direction you find easiest, either HCB ub+P or HCF uf+P. It basically enables you do to a 360 input without hiding it behind a jump or recover of an attack or dash (although those are good methods for hiding the input). The 720 input is similar as in you don't actually need to do a complete 720 motion but in all honesty it's easier to basically mash out a 720 input xD V-SKILLS & V-TRIGGERS VS2 is probably easier to use for beginners but both have their uses. VT1 is a good combo tool where VT2 just make SPD and Air SPD (Borscht Dynamite) buffed damage so whatever you prefer. Just remember that VT1 is unsafe on block unless you hold down the buttons. Zangief is a grappled and so he has limited combos. Your goal is to land an SPD and then you're able to put them in the 50/50 mix-up of SPD or no SPD (use f+HP or s.MP), unless they have V-meter for V-Shift :P I gave some examples for SPD setups but they are all the setups by any means.
