Samo, a young mechanical engineering company from Upper Austria, is shaking up the world of mechanical weed control with the VarioChop: a hoeing device that's unlike any other. The idea behind it is as simple as it is ingenious: the closer you can hoe to the plants, the more effective the weed control. However, different crops, soil conditions, and development stages require constant adjustment of the tools, which previously involved a lot of screwing. Until now, because with the VarioChop, the hoeing bodies and all additional tools can be easily adjusted: manually on each element as standard, or hydraulically and continuously from the cab if desired. This allows the farmer to react immediately to the individual conditions in the field while driving and always achieves the best possible work results. We were able to accompany three operations with different devices with our camera.
