ENG: Agoteak is a cultural and artistic project made up of some creators from the Basque Country, based on roots reggae music. The members of the group, Ivan "MoreiReggae" on drums, Lander "Ilarbass" on bass, Jorge "Iortx" on guitar, Aitor "Dubrktor" on keyboard, Jokin "Glaukoma" on keyboard, Iker "Selektah" on trumpet, Unai "Txufla" on trombone, and Iker "Beñaranks" as the frontman, have worked together for several years to compose an extensive repertoire. In this first showcase album, they have selected four songs to make a name in the reggae music world, which are presented along with four other dub versions that master Roberto Sánchez has mixed in his "Lone Ark" reggae studio of the Cantabrian Coast. In Africa, Jamaica, Palestine, and many other countries inhabited by diminished cultures, authors can be found who, through memory, show a clear awareness of their own roots, voices that denounce various oppressions. In accordance with these ideas, the name of the band agoteak refers to a historically marginalized and punished human group in the Baztan Valley, whose craftsmanship, especially the cultivation of elements such as stone and wood, and the character of musicians, stand out among others. On the pretext of the history of the agotes, the band creates, in Euskara (Basque language), songs that deal with feelings, with the evils of Babylon, and with the desire to change them.
