Cycling The Bow Valley Parkway (Banff - Johnston Canyon)

It is closed during May for the exclusive use of cyclists and is a great opportunity to take in the sights and sounds without motorised vehicular traffic. Get an early start and enjoy this ride as a good start to your summer. For those of you that just want to research the ride beforehand, this video is also for you. Some notes on this ride: The ride-in is approximately a 25km journey (50km with the return) with some steep ascents. You will need a fully charged battery. There are facilities along the way. It may be chilly, so dress accordingly. It is bear country, so remember your bear spray. You can cycle on to Johnston Canyon and hike up the canyon.
