Each owes the entire monthly rent, but the landlord may only demand the monthly rent once. 💡In the case of an inheritance community, each is jointly and severally liable with regard to any debts of the deceased, funeral expenses, and liabilities arising from compulsory shares of the inheritance. 💡Joint and several liability means that each joint debtor is obligated to provide the entire payment. 💡The creditor is free to choose whom to demand payment from. However, they may only demand payment once. 💡If one joint debtor pays the entire debt, the others no longer have to pay the creditor.
