Most Watch Collectors Don't Want More Watches
Have you ever wondered if watch collecting is actually supposed to last forever? One of the biggest assumptions in the hobby is that if you're a true watch enthusiast, you'll always be searching for the next watch. The next grail. The next upgrade. The next addition to your collection. But what if that's not actually true? In this video, I share why I believe most watch enthusiasts don't want to collect watches forever. Instead, I think most collectors eventually reach a point where the goal shifts from acquiring more watches to understanding themselves, refining their tastes, and becoming more intentional with the pieces they already own. Along the way, I discuss: • Why the watch community naturally encourages endless collecting • Why buying watches is often more about learning than accumulating • How your tastes evolve over time • Why becoming more selective is a sign of growth—not boredom • How my own collection has changed, and what those changes have taught me If you've ever wondered whether it's normal to lose the desire to constantly buy new watches, or if you've found yourself becoming more selective after years in the hobby, I think you'll relate to this conversation. As always, I'd love to hear your perspective in the comments.
