Simon Laengenfelder is in sparkling form as the season draws to a close. And he proved it once again by winning Race 1. From turn 1, the German broke away from the rest of the pack, taking another Fox Holeshot in the process. That was the start of 30 minutes of racing in the lead without being worried by anyone. Behind him, Jago Geerts was unable to retain the GasGas rider and eventually finished the race 6 seconds behind him, but 5 seconds ahead of Andrea Adamo. The Championship leader had a few scares during the race, although he seemed to be putting the pressure on Geerts.
