Bosch GAS 35L AFC - Bad suction fix

There are a lot of reports of bad suction with the BOSCH GAS 35 L AFC type shop-vacs. I tried changing the filter and checking the seal around it to no avail, but then I saw a french video that explained what it was. The filter cleaning "kicker" leaks because there is too much play in the electromagnet holder so the magnet slips too far down and this opens the diaphragm slightly affecting the suction. Normally the magnet is supposed to hold the diaphragm/plunger shut, it lets go only in pulses during the filter cleaning cycle. To fix this you need to open up the kicker and add something under the lip of the electromagnet so it can't slip down too far. It's probably going to be a a small adjustment, too far up and it can't hold the diaphragm at all, it just needs to be just right. I think the problem here is that over time the diaphragm/plunger edge that seals gets worn and this adjustment needs to be done to compensate for that.
