DForum schließt nach 24 Jahren – und irgendwie tut das weh…
The DForum is closing its doors after 24 years. And I never would have thought this news would affect me so deeply. This very spontaneous and personal video isn't about cameras, bags, or technology—it's about community, friendship, internet culture, and our own consumer behavior. For many photographers, the DForum was much more than just a Canon forum. It was a meeting place, a source of knowledge, a regular hangout, a home, and the starting point for genuine friendships that have lasted to this day. I talk about: • the early user meetups • the "Taunus Gangsters" • shared photo tours, vacations, and friendships • the time when forums were still real places to connect • and why social media, AI, and our changing behavior are slowly displacing traditional communities. This video is a huge thank you to Dirk Wächter and everyone who brought the DForum to life over the decades. And perhaps a little food for thought: What would happen to communities, small businesses, or forums if we missed them but hardly used them anymore? I'd really like to hear your opinion: Do you still use traditional forums today? Or have AI, social media, and the like completely taken over this role? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments. Thanks for watching. ❤️
