What's Up With Legendary Reissue Label Speakers Corner?

My DJI Pocket3 video camera malfunctioned during the Vienna High End Show and needed to be returned for repair so this video shot with an older Pocket2 is on the sloppy side but it's merely an intro to the main event. BTW: DJI has the best customer service of any company in any category that I"ve dealt with over the past decade. Absolutely the best! Speakers Corner began reissuing all-analog records in 1993. The Germany based company founded by reissue pioneer Kai Seemann is still at it, though like other reissue labels, licensing titles continues to get more difficult as the major labels want to own the action. Seemann began as a classical reissue label beginning with titles from the Decca catalog mastered by Tony Hawkins at the original Decca mastering facilities. Over time the label moved into jazz and rock, with cutting happening where the tapes were stored. That means you can find titles mastered at Sterling Sound, and Cohearent Audio. While the majors have gotten stingy, Seemann is still able to get some great titles from the Warner Music Group, among others. More recently he's cut a deal with Jan Sieveking, Europe's preeminent distributor of audiophile record labels. I recently interviewed both via ZOOM and if you're at all interested in how the vinyl resurgence began you'll find this interview fascinating. It includes some "vintage" footage from 1993.
