Sir Henry's Remembered

Join us on a nostalgic journey into the heart of Cork's iconic nightlife with "Sir Henry's Remembered." Founded in 1978 on South Main Street, Sir Henry's was more than just a bar and nightclub; it was a cultural landmark that shaped the music scene in Ireland. This documentary, presented by the Electronic Music Council, delves into the vibrant history of Sir Henry's, a venue that hosted legendary artists like Laurent Garnier, Carl Cox, and Nirvana. One of Sir Henry's standout legacies was the legendary club night 'SWEAT.' Through the eyes of resident DJ and founding member Greg Dowling and dedicated regular Kerri Chandler, we revisit the electrifying 'SWEAT' nights, capturing the essence of what made Sir Henry's an unforgettable institution until its closure in 2003. This video was part of an exhibition which celebrated electronic music in Cork. It was part of the National Celebration of Culture, for Culture Night in Ireland.
