TRIBUN-VIDEO.COM - Iran claims to have launched retaliatory attacks on several United States military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain. The attacks were claimed to have been carried out using ballistic missiles and drones by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). According to the IRGC, at least eight strategic US military facilities were targeted in a joint operation that took place early Sunday (June 28). The operation reportedly took place between 2:00 and 3:00 a.m. local time. The IRGC claimed to have successfully hit Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait. In addition, the headquarters of the United States Navy's Fifth Fleet at Port Salman, Bahrain, was also reportedly targeted. Iran stated that the attacks were retaliation for a previous US military operation targeting several Iranian coastal facilities. Tehran also accused Washington of violating agreements related to the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. In its statement, the IRGC asserted that control of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz is Iran's right, as per the agreement they refer to as the Islamabad Memorandum. The IRGC then warned that any new attack by the United States would be met with a much harsher response. They also emphasized that any violation of the ceasefire agreement would be considered a serious violation. The IRGC even threatened to terminate all agreed commitments if violations occurred again. To date, there has been no independent confirmation or official response from the US regarding the claimed attack.
