Nearly 2,000 metalheads spent a week aboard the "Mein Schiff 1" in May 2013, experiencing a full-on metal experience on the high seas and also attending concerts on land in Southampton, Le Havre, and Amsterdam. Just in time for the 824th anniversary of the Port of Hamburg, the ocean liner returned—with a 50,000-watt PA system on the pool deck for a fitting serenade.
