US Car Tool Mopar A-Body Level 3 Install | Driver Side Mini-Tub (Step-by-Step) | Part 3
We’re wrapping up the mini-tub portion of the US Car Tool Mopar A-Body Level 3 install, and in Part 3 it’s time to tackle the driver’s side wheelhouse. Just to keep things interesting, the driver’s side throws a curveball right out of the gate. Unlike the passenger side, the factory cross brace behind the rear seat interferes with the mini-tub, so I walk through how I relocate and modify that brace to make everything work while keeping the structure solid. Once the mini-tub is fully welded in, I move on to another important check — rear seat fitment. As expected, the wider tubs mean the seat doesn’t drop in quite right. The good news? A small, straightforward modification to the seat frame is all it takes, and the rear seat now fits perfectly with no compromises. To wrap things up, I reinstall the original rear springs, shocks, rear end, and wheels so the Duster can get back to yard-driving duty while the rest of the build continues. Before calling it a day, I break out the tape measure to confirm clearances for the narrowed Dana 60 waiting in the wings — and let’s just say, it’s going to fit beautifully when the time comes. If you’re considering mini-tubbing a Mopar A-body, this episode covers the real-world challenges you won’t see in the instructions — and how to overcome them cleanly and confidently. #moparornocar #1970s #plymouthduster #USCT #diy
