The documentary film “Autumn of Triumph,” produced by TFS Film Studio (Ho Chi Minh City Television), was created from the desire to fully portray that historical picture. The film not only recreates glorious historical events through rare documents and eyewitness accounts, but also conveys a sacred message: independence and freedom are eternal aspirations, the fruits of countless generations who sacrificed themselves so that today we can live in peace and prosperity. The film opens with the autumn of 1945, when Ba Dinh Square resounded with President Ho Chi Minh's Declaration of Independence. The image of the people of the capital city erupting in joy at being freed from slavery became an immortal symbol. That autumn marked the birth and affirmation of national sovereignty, ushering in a new era for the Vietnamese nation. From that foundation, the film guides the audience through three decades of arduous but heroic resistance, culminating in the autumn of 1975 – the triumphant autumn, when the country achieved complete independence and the nation was united. The Independence Day celebrations on September 2nd, 1975, in Saigon-Ho Chi Minh City are depicted through rare documentary footage and eyewitness accounts, recreating the vibrant atmosphere: flags and flowers everywhere, joy spreading throughout the streets, and the hearts of the entire nation beating in unison with the spirit of freedom. “Autumn Triumph” also explores the deeper value: independence is not an end point, but the beginning of a journey of building and development.
