And so, the star of this article is the Maserati Ghibli II, limited to 35 units worldwide, the PRIMATIST! Let me explain! The Ghibli II had an increased displacement from the Italian version of the 2.0-liter V6 twin turbo to a 2.8-liter V6 twin turbo for export, and both the MT (initial model was 5-speed) and 4AT models were imported by our company, which was the sole importer and distributor in Japan. A minor change was made in 1994, with a new interior and wheels, and electronically controlled suspension and ABS were also installed. This Ghibli is a limited edition model created to commemorate the world record set by a motorboat equipped with a Maserati engine. A motorboat attempted to break the world speed record on Lake Lugano, located in the Alps between Italy and Switzerland. This motorboat, released by boat manufacturer Primatist, is equipped with a 2-liter turbo engine for the Ghibli Cup, generating 330 bhp and 38.5 kg/s of torque, and reaching a speed of 216.703 km/h, successfully breaking a new world speed record.
