According to Al Mayadeen, clashes occurred around the strategic Ali al-Taher area, which has long been a key point in Israeli military operations. Israeli forces reportedly attempted to advance towards the area, involving several combat units. However, their movements were apparently monitored by Hezbollah fighters. Field sources stated that Hezbollah had carefully prepared an ambush before Israeli forces entered the battle area. The Israeli forces were then directed to a point designated as the ambush zone. Shortly afterward, fierce clashes broke out. The fighting reportedly lasted for more than two hours. Hezbollah did not rely solely on ground attacks in the operation. The group also reportedly launched missiles and drones at Israeli forces stationed there. The attacks were carried out from several directions simultaneously. This situation made it difficult for Israeli forces to move or send reinforcements to the front lines. The evacuation efforts were also reportedly extremely difficult. Field sources quoted by Al Mayadeen stated that several Israeli soldiers and officers were killed or injured in the operation. To rescue its troops, Israel reportedly fired a large number of smoke shells. The Israeli military also launched airstrikes in the area surrounding the clashes. This measure was taken to open an evacuation route for troops trapped in the battlefield. Amid the fighting, the Israeli military acknowledged the loss of one of its key officers. The victim was identified as Lieutenant Colonel Dor Gadalia Ben Simhon, Commander of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade. In the same incident, three other Israeli soldiers were also reported killed. The battle tank Ben Simhon was reportedly targeted during an operation in southern Lebanon. A large explosion then struck the vehicle. The Israeli military stated that the exact cause of the incident was still under investigation. Nevertheless, Ben Simhon's death is of great concern because he was a key commander in the Israeli armored forces. He had only just assumed command of Battalion 52 after the previous commander was wounded in a military operation. This incident adds to the list of losses Israel has suffered in recent weeks. Israeli media previously reported Hezbollah's increasing ability to target senior Israeli commanders and officers. The group is said to be able to identify the vehicles used by commanders on the battlefield. This capability makes Israeli troops' positions increasingly vulnerable to surprise attacks. Meanwhile, the primary objective of the Israeli operation in the Ali al-Taher area was also reportedly not achieved. Hezbollah asserted that Israeli forces failed to capture the strategic area. This was despite the operation being supported by battle tanks, artillery, and airstrikes. Despite deploying a large force, Israeli forces were reportedly unable to penetrate Hezbollah's defenses. This development indicates that pressure on Israeli forces in southern Lebanon continues to increase.
