Nelisiwe Xaba, professionally known as NELZ, is a Durban-based South African Hip-Hop artist, performer, and brand influencer originally from eMfume on the KZN South Coast. Raised by her grandmother after being abandoned at a young age, she found comfort and self-expression through music and entertainment from childhood. Her passion for Hip-Hop began while studying at Mangosuthu University of Technology, where she started performing her poetry over Hip-Hop beats. NELZ rose to prominence in 2015 after becoming a Top 7 contestant on South Africa’s first Hip-Hop reality show, The Hustle on Vuzu TV. Since then, she has built a strong independent music career with national radio play, TV features, major collaborations, festival performances, and brand partnerships.
