Solo Overlanding Adventure Catch & Cast Iron Cook Trout Wilderness Firebox Stove "Will it Pie?"

What a great trip! I still can't believe I was able to drive to such a primitive wilderness area. I usually don't get rewardered like that until I hike at least a full day, usually two, to get somewhere this pristine. Multiple beautifully healthy alpine lakes with more than enough brook trout to be sure you won't go hungry. So much fun! I've been giving a lot of thought to what a perfect fit a deep-fried pie is for camping. Number one, it's finger food…no dishes to do! At most you'll need a napkin. Number two, it's just plain fun! You can take very ordinary ingredients, heck, even leftovers and suddenly it becomes a pie. Number three, it's easy. Once you have the oil hot you can do an unlimited number of pies quite quickly and easily. Number four, your food stays hot, that solves a huge problem with cooking and eating outdoors which is that your food gets cold so fast. I am imagining a bar of ingredients from which to create whatever kind of deliciousness you create. I wondered if some people might think that doing this kind of solo high adventure is irresponsible? Maybe nobody’s given it much thought... It really isn't irresponsible since I do carry a satellite communicator which means I can get help in case of emergency. There was a time when a mishap could mean mortal danger…missing for days before anyone comes looking. Just enough time for things to go from bad to worse... I think we're lucky to live in a time when near instant communication from almost anywhere exists.
