Veilguard's Trans Representation Critiqued by a Trans Guy

I’ve been thinking about the trans representation in Veilguard since the top surgery scars were mentioned, but I wanted to wait and see how trans identities were represented before I made a video. I almost deleted this entire script because I felt like maybe it was useless for me to try to have a conversation about it, but as a trans man I feel like I have to say *something*, even if it may mean that some people get upset or disagree with me. My voice matters, too, and I shouldn’t bury it just because “it’s not going to matter”. I have a lot more to say about how Veilguard goes about all sorts of things weird or wrong, but I’ll keep that for my huge analysis video that I’ll make eventually, when I have the energy to make an hours-long video to be able to discuss everything. It’s… a lot. If you’re reading this description, I would ask of you to please be respectful in the comments. It can sometimes be easy to forget that the person speaking on the screen is an actual human being just like you, but I promise that I am. Hateful comments will be deleted, anyway, so if that’s all you have to “contribute” to the conversation you’re wasting your breath. To those who actually listened to my perspective on the trans representation in Veilguard as a trans guy, even if you may not agree with me, thank you for taking the time to do so. PS: by the way, when I was looking for screenshots of the trans characters in Veilguard and searched for Tarquin, I couldn’t find any screenshots of him at all. Not even poor quality ones. Because, well… I guess no one cares about trans men unless it’s to put our possible surgery scars in the spotlight.
