However, it comes with risks — fake notes, short counting, sudden rate changes, and even scammers targeting tourists. I experienced it all firsthand. From negotiating exchange rates to double-checking bundles of cash, the entire process felt intense and unpredictable. But this day was more than just about money. While walking through Yangon’s busy streets, I met incredible local people who shared glimpses of their daily lives. From small tea shops and roadside vendors to conversations with friendly locals, I got to witness Myanmar’s unique culture up close. I also experienced the spiritual side of the city, visiting beautiful pagodas during festival time, where devotees gathered with candles, flowers, and prayers. The peaceful temple atmosphere was a strong contrast to the chaos of the currency streets. The whole day felt like a roller coaster — excitement, tension, cultural beauty, and real street lessons all packed into one adventure.
