Strike Up The Band (1960)
The STRIKE UP THE BAND promotional documentary features the 1960 Northwestern University "Wildcat" Marching Band, under the direction of Mr. John Phillip Paynter. The film highlights many of the band's traditions and performance elements which continue to this day, as well as a few that have gone by the wayside. (The band no longer charts drill with pencils or copies-and-pastes music with actual scissors and glue.) Learn more about the Northwestern Bands at https://northwesternbands.org.
